What a coincidence!

I'm still editing book one of my new supernatural/ fantasy novel but thought I'd take a break and talk about an interesting experience I had this past weekend.
Do you believe in coincidence? I do and it's happened so many times that it's impossible to ignore, for me anyway. If you don't then maybe you will after you read this blog because the evidence is very compelling.
I'm not sure where you are in the world, but this past weekend, here in Ontario, we had some freakish weather. Mere days before, we were in t-shirts and shorts and golfers were dusting off their balls getting ready to play 9 or 18 holes.
Then suddenly out of nowwhere, a snow/ice/rain storm that put about 20 cm's on the ground. In some places the ice coated the trees and caused some havoc but thankfully I got through it unscathed.
On saturday, I was in need of a new book to read and put all my winter gear on and ventured out. I really didn't think many places would be open but low and behold a book vendor was open fairly close.
Now, before I go any farther, this is where it starts to get interesting. I had been thinking about just what I wanted to read. I had an urge or maybe I was guided to re-read Stephen King's Doctor Sleep. Personally, I loved that novel and thought it was as good or better as The Shining. And I also thought the film adaptation was pretty good as well.

Okay, so that was where my head was at on a wintery day as I entered the bookstore. I chatted briefly with the vendor, about the weather of course, then made my way to the used section, just to see if Doctor Sleep might be there.
I started browsing and looked up onto the top of one of the book shelves and there was Doctor Sleep. It wasn't even shelved properly. It looked like maybe it had just come in and someone thought about shelving it but got distracted.
Now, that in itself, was a prety good coincidence. However, things were going to get even more out of the ordinary.
Doctor Sleep was lying on top of another book. Guess what book?
If you said The Shining, then that would be an awesome guess but not the correct one.
Lying underneath the book I was thinking of getting before I came in the shop was a copy of my first book, The Forgotten.

Wait! What?
It's true. Isn't that freaky?
So, that should be enough ammunition to prove that coincidence is a thing.
And then I thought to myself, "What ingrate dropped off the book I had gifted them for free like it was something to just throwaway after reading?"
I pulled the book out and looked at the first page and thankfully, my autograph and sentimental words to the owner, were not there. Whew!
What I did find was that the vendor had priced my used book at $6.99 and that made me happy.
Not only was I happy wth the price but I was also pleased that there's enough of my books floating around that one ended up in a used book store.
What a day!!!
That's it for this blog.
Stay tuned for more frequent blogging as I progress on the new novel and gear up for an online script course I've created for novices. It would also be great for anyone wanting to adapt their novel or short stories to film.
Until next times, bye for now!
